nan lawson

i have been loving the work of nan lawson since i learned about her on green wedding shoes and really wanted to order custom portraits of will and i for his birthday. so cute... you send her photos of yourselves and she creates super cute yet hip images unique to your style, personalities and interests. nan had a little wait list (which i didn't plan ahead for) so i wasn't able to get a custom portrait for his birthday. but i ended up buying myself a little print online anyway!

i can pretend this is the cartoon version of me!
but i have a feeling it is a little zooey d! after all, it's titled "summer."

lake arrowhead

for will's birthday earlier this month we stayed at the clawson's cabin. they were so nice to throw it in as a thank you for us photographing brooke's wedding. we had the huge 3-story cabin all to ourselves and loved every minute of it.

highlights:

+staying up all night playing dr. mario (my favorite video game) and then waking up and playing it some more

+cookies & hot cocoa by the lake

+pancake breakfasts

+feeding the ducks

+playing in the snow

we sure love taking breaks to enjoy nature.

i got back yesterday from wppi in vegas, which was the BEST. i got to party with all my favorite photographers and learn a ton to help me further define my business. very exciting! thought i'd throw a video up here because it feels like it's been awhile. also i've been thinking about putting up a playlist again, so look for it in the future. enjoy!

the haitian experience.

my buddy justin served a mission for our church in haiti awhile back, and without hesitation he returned after the quake to give aid to the people that he had previously served and grew to love. i love that he shared his story, it's very emotional and the photos are unbelievable. here are a few of my favorites, and make sure to head to amelia lyon photography to check out the rest.
