As most of you already know, I went through my Master of Science degree program in Clinical Psychology to prepare me for the Marriage & Family Therapist license.
All of my coursework has been completed since last May. But my thesis is not...Now, I don't recall why I chose the hardest program where no one finishes in 2 years due to their thesis project, why I didn't just choose an easier program where I could have just done a lit review or something... Anyway there have been a ton of setbacks that I have no way of controlling. Long story but anyways I had to revise revise revise and simplify because foster agencies just don't seem to have the time or means to help with graduate research. My project is again approved.
Let's cut to the chase...
I NEED FOSTER MOTHERS!
Are you a foster mother who has cared for a foster child within the last 6 months? Okay probably not, but YOU PROBABLY KNOW SOME! Please help by telling them your friend Jenn needs them to fill out a 20 minute anonymous survey online! My survey is up at http://www.fostermotherstudy.com.
Options for how you can help me with this:
- Copy and paste the following text and send it in an email to them
- Link them to my blog post: http://jennrocket.blogspot.com
- Paraphrase the info to them and tell them to visit http://www.fostermotherstudy.com
- Have them email me at email@example.com for the link/info
- Ask me for a hard copy of the flyer to give to them (I have 1,000 to get rid of)
- DON'T TELL ME THE NAME OF ANYONE WHO IS PARTICIPATING...thanks.
THANK YOU AND I LOVE YOU!

I am a Master's student in Clinical Psychology. I am conducting a study for my thesis project which involves foster mothers. I am interested in foster mothers because I was previously a foster baby who was adopted as an infant. My family consists of 10 adopted children, most of which were first foster children. Our family also cared for around 300 foster children throughout the years. I know that being a parent is not easy, and that there are additional unique challenges faced by parents who are caring for foster children. I believe it is important to document this and give foster mothers a voice in the literature. This will shed some light on how foster family agencies and communities can better support foster parents in their very important roles.
If you are a foster mother who has cared for a foster child within the last 6 months, and you are interested in participating in my research, it will only take about 20 minutes of your time to fill out my anonymous survey online at http://www.fostermotherstudy.com. You can email me, Jenn Bartlett, with any questions at firstname.lastname@example.org or you can also contact the faculty member, Dr. Jack Mearns, who is supervising the project at email@example.com.
Please know that I sincerely appreciate your time in this matter, and please feel free to forward this email to anyone who might be interested.
